Hardest part of any job

Starting your own company is A LOT of work, fear of the unknown, investing you hard earned money, using time you can never get back. As Sun Tzu burned the boats so his army had no way of turning back.... if you go into ANY situation thinking "this is it, no other option this company has to thrive" IT WILL! I know that sounds silly but you really create a mental head space of a jail cell around your brain. You want something enough you will get it, even if it means setting up all night working the kinks out of your plan. TRUST ME I've been chosen to be a published author, I have patents, I was selling lemonade in grade school.... the funny thing is when I sold lemonade in grade school I wasn't worried about "starting from the bottom" or "fear of failure" (maybe because I only put my time in it on hot Texas summer days no cash came out of my pocket). It miraculous how we start out so bold and brazing as a child and grow into an insecure worried adult, shouldn't it be the other way around? I know a hell of a lot more today then I did 20 years ago. When in college I would buy and resale textbooks with out the worry of "what if I don't get a buyer for this book I just spend $150 trying to sell if for $250-$300" I just knew what I paid for the book in comparison to what that was selling for used in bookstores and online. It was a no brainier to me, when I first attended college I was not old enough to get a job so I had to MAKE a job (I really could have lived off scholarships and student loans, but everyone around me worked and went to school so I wanted to as well! The fear we now have is how we would look at a situation, would I buy this book/ pay for this service? When I became and financial planner I could not believe hot much money people would pay to let someone else buy stuff with it! It took me a very long time to recognize 1. Some people don't have the time to study investing 2. Some people simply couldn't grasp the concept of selling their very best stock in their portfolio and buying more of the worst preforming stock. I delivered my client more of an intangible service than the actual return on their investment.... I took away the fear and the doubt that we have grown to acquire in our old age. Isn't that amazing, I was PAID to make someone feel comfortable and secure (of course every client had an "OH NO" moment at one time or another but I was PAID to reel them back in.) The hardest part of any business is getting your first few clients, after happy clients word of mouth IS your advertisement! How would I know this? IT JUST HAPPENED TO ME THIS WEEK! I have a credit repair business, nothing particularly special about it BUT I am very honest with prospects.... if they can fix their own credit without my help I just tell them for free! Those few 5 minute conversations has landed me double or triple the amount of clients by word of mouth. One person I gave free advice to is actually footing the bill for one of his friends. I maxed out my friend number on facebook within three day (that's 5,000 potential clients and even MORE considering referrals I can get). The internet is such a power tool I honestly could not believe my eyes, I even contact people with large facebook following to see if I could be getting scammed or something. All legit and I am having trouble just keeping up with the inquires flooding into my mailbox. Be bold and brazing like I was as a child and like I was this past week take a chance and see how powerful you really are!
